DevonShae Creative Blog
My life has taken some crazy twists and turns, but I never stopped chasing my dreams. It’s not always an easy journey when you are working towards your goals, but it is always worth it in the end.
I grew up with a mix of entrepreneurship, art, fitness, and wellness. My dad owned his own business and worked as a fitness coach, and my mom worked in the health & wellness industry. Ever since I was little, I wanted to own my own creative business and work in fitness (spoiler: I achieved both of those things).
I have notebooks on top of notebooks of old business logos I would draw up in my dads office over the summer and after school. You could say that was a sign of where my future would go π
My college path was not your traditional path… In high school I thought I was going to go straight to a 4 year UC or get accepted into an art school by the coast. I ended up getting my bachelors after changing my major about 9 times. Throughout college and my first few years post-graduation I worked a few 9-5 office jobs, but it was very clear right away that they were not for me.
When I was 22, I got my dream job working as a designer for a local small business! I worked my way up to being the lead designer and overseeing production. It was great for a while, but I ended up burnt out and miserable. I started to fall out of love with design and realized I needed a change. This lead to a major career change *elementary school teacher entere the chat*.
At 25, I worked as a teacher for a year (another childhood dream of mine). While I loved my students, that time away allowed me to fall back in love with design. I took that energy and channeled it into launching my business as more than a side hustle. After the school year ended, I made the decision to go all in on my business. Now there’s no turning back.
If you’re looking to chase your dreams, take this as a sign that it’s your time π«Άπ» And if you find you need a brand & website, well, you know where to find me π
